VERY slow startup. On first startup I was asked whether I wanted to open an existing or create a new book, so I went to new. I eventually worked out the next dialog - you have to select a location folder, then there's another field for 'name' which you DON'T fill in, you select a template from the list on the left. The next thing I got was an access violation error message, which I finally managed to quit out of. I next tried going back and selecting 'open'. It opened the program folder, and sure enough there was a sample book in there. But since I'm on Windows 7 it wouldn't open that, as it would need Administrator priviliges. So, I tried quitting out altogether and running the program as Administrator. Sure enough, the 'create new' option worked now.
Obviously there's a very poor design here somewhere - it's storing data files in locations that need Administrator privileges to access read/write. Definitely not a good idea to run this on Vista or Win 7, as it's not designed 'correctly' for these systems. And did I mention it's so SLOW ?

This is in a class of its own. For freeware I’ve found no database of its kind easier to use and offering so many choices regarding fields choices, configuration etc. I bet someone is going to show me that I’m wrong! There is support on offer direct from the developer. There’s plenty of flexibility regarding its usage. However, if you intend to use a lot of fields on one page, this is where things get a little difficult, so it’s advisable to spread the fields out over a number of pages, as I was not able to scroll a page down. Yet it was easy enough to squeeze fields besides one another.

The help file is rather buggy and there are no support forums available. From the looks of what little documentation is available it may be a single year project for an exam so I'm unsure about continuing support or development. .NET Framework is required...should be made more clear.
In use it isn't that awful but it only comes into its own if your needs are unusual as it requires you to build what may competing products offer ready built...for those unusual needs more mature products such as Data Crow might be a safer option.

I was looking for a software journal I could use for stock options. This software allowed me to customize it which is just what I was looking for.
