Great program. Best of its kind, imho.

great program, the developers are these brilliant Russian guys. They often are gone for long periods of time between support inquiries but when they do come around they are quick to help and solve problems. The program keeps getting better and is quite stable and robust. I use it for a whole laundry list of stuff including controlling the lighting in my reptile cage to automatically downloading files from the web to synchronizing my clock with the atomic servers or even simple alarms and reminders. Small and efficient, and if you decide to learn Forth, you can pretty much do anything with this as they expose all the WinAPIs etc...

This program is possibly one of the best utilities I have downloaded in a long time. The possibilities with regards to what you can do with nncron is endless. Superb! The helpfile comes with lots of samples. To get the most out of this proggie, you will have to take a look at these samples. The interface is good enough, but for some of the advanced things you can do with nncron, read the helpfile

3 rating because it does what it says and seems to work fine, but I must admit i'm confused as to why I should use this and pay money for it when vbscript and windows scheduled tasks will do the same thing.

@VictorAnderson: If you had ever attempted to create scheduled jobs via the command line that run as a user other than local system (using JT.exe from the reskit), then you would understand why this app is so useful. This app uses the same format as unix cron, which is much more powerful/flexible than task scheduler on windows.
I must admin that I haven't tested this app (Hence the average rating), but if it's half as good as GNU vcron, then it's a damn fine utility. It might not be that useful on a single machine, but it looks like it will be ideally suited to a NT/2k system administrator on a large network. - One to add to my bookmarks for the future.

There is _no_ virus in nnCron distribution. This is just a nod32 false alarm. The developers of nod32 are informed about this issue.

Duh? Pay for this? Lite version has win32 virus.

Definitely must have. For those, who do not want to pay - there is nnCron Lite by same author (http://www.nncron.ru/license/nncronlt.shtml)
And no - Windows default scheduler, can't even touch it.

nncron is great, i love it. Allows programs to be run in the background. I have several batch files i've written that always run and always take presedence over other apps when they run, they take up space on the screen. With nncron, they run as a background process so I can continue working uninterrupted. And to the last reviewer, task manager doesnt do anything like this program, task manager is for managing running processes, not scheduling things to run :-P

ummmmm... why not just use the windows task manager? $25 bucks to do something windows does on its own? uhhh no.
