jpmccord: must be a problem on your system, has never happened to me. in fact it plays happily in the background while I'm playing cpu hungry games and it doesn't hiccup ever, nor does it affect other programs running.

technically speaking, everything in foobar is componenets (plugins), including output & basic mp3 playback.
so yes, cd burning support is through a plugin... :)
