Publisher's Description
CuteZIP is a compression utility designed to compress and extract files commonly called archives. Archives, with file extensions such as ZIP and CAB, are encoded versions of uncompressed files that require considerably less disk space. Due to their smaller size, archives save hard drive space and require less time to transmit over the Internet.

This is NOT freeware, it's SHAREWARE. Yet another useless WinZip clone by the wat... See: http://www.cutezip.com/s...ase.asp?product=cutezip - IZArc is freeware and far better than this.

I actually like this interface, its clean and appealing, and it supports multi-disk spanning which I dont think WinRar does.

I agree. RAR still is the best, and can also manage zip files. Nice try though.

I still must say - WinRAR still rules the archive arena, it does it all and has a no-nag endless evaluation period...this program isn't bad though.

Why are zip programs so complex? Most users wouldnt use or need most features. Most important is full right click functions-like FREEZIP

I have been using this program for over 3 months. So far I have been very impressed with the 128-bit incryption. The data management is very impressive. Features of controlling your hard drive from the program also was impressive. The most important part of the program that I noticed was the memory heap configuaration that has made zip files on my network use less resources.

I think CuteMX is much better than Napster (what about an interface, Napster? haha). I hope that this app will get as popular as Napster.

Can you say Sysedit?
pixelbeat reviewed v1.0 Beta 11 on Feb 25, 2000
Very simple non caching server.
However it doesn't work! Sometimes pages come through
but about 1/2 the time data is missing!
I only use this over a LAN but over dialup it would probably be worse

It has right click shell integration. I have been using it and havn't had any of these problems. I think it is a cool program, especially for a beta.
bobad reviewed v1.0 Beta 8 on Dec 15, 1999
I always appreciate freeware, but I don't think I can use this one. Speed and shell integration are imperative for a Zip utility, and this one has neither. It isn't even close to JZip or EZ Zip, which are 2 nice freeware Zip utilities.

Like I said in my review, I really like CuteZIP. The features are great and the interface makes extracting and making archives a breeze. I'll be damned if I ever download WinZip again...
