Imagine that two clueless idiots reviewing software they obviously haven't even used! The library here is a good implementation of the .NET editor in VS. Being able to add that to your own programs is indeed a valuable addition to the programmers tool kit.

This is a library to include in your own applications
It's not a text editor to compete with textpad or ultraedit.
That is why it appears that it costs so much. In reality it does not.

$299 for a text editor
I wouldn't matter how good this software is, no text editor is worth $299!
Their website says: "Editor.NET has almost all the features that can be found in the Visual Studio.NET code Editor" You can get a FREE version of VS.Net!
As the father character in the movie "The Castle" says: "There're got'a be dreamin'".

At that price, I would expect at least to have the same features as UltraEdit. In other words, it is underpowered and overpriced. Then again, maybe they should associate with a famous design brand, so they can charge this much.
