8.3 was released July 15, 2011 per their website. I paid for this prog years ago and use it almost daily.

I've used this for many a year. It is great.

It would be ***** stars were it a little bit easier to use. Then again, something this capable isn't going to be easy peasy.

I particularly like the ability to set up a schedule that can tune into a website and grab the stream. If only it could connect to the "favorites" saved in TotalRecorder itself, rather than forcing me to jump through all sorts of hoops to find a stream that works.

Very flexible and versatile. It would take a lot to make me move to something else.

While most reviewers are morons who rave about freeware that doesn't work, has a crap interface, no documentation, and no support, I prefer software like Total Recorder: Excellent documentation, functionality, and support. Oh gosh! It's not free! Oh well, some things in life are worth paying for.

Yeah, GOM Recorder is to Total Recorder what that Firefox extension is to WebSite-Watcher, as some nitwit pointed out over there. Total Recorder provides lifetime licenses, so unless you had some problem that couldn't be resolved, I doubt you had a legitimate license for Total Recorder to "switch from" anyway.

I switched to the freeware Gom Recorder, which basically does the same thing as the Total Recorder.

I love this product! I have been using it since version 3. I bought it many years ago, and everytime HighCriteria upgrades TotalRecorder they give me the new version for free. Best money I ever spent on shareware. The features are many and easy to use. Highly recommended!

A great program with really advanced options for scheduled recordings (auto-name files and auto-tag them), I love it!

Probably the best that's out there (I certainly don't know anything better for that task).

Constantly use this program. Its easy and powerfull. Cut and edit sound files easily and quickly. Runs very light on resources and not a overwhelming gui like others. Looking forward to future releases.

has automatic record level adjustment as well as AGC & speech enhancement, analyzer/eq, click/noise/hiss removal-plugins. Works with external codecs like fraunhofer mp3 pro.

*********WARNING********

This program installs a driver which is known to interfere with a vast array of sound cards, including the TBSC (Turtle Beach Santa Cruz).

If you run TBSC, you can kiss Winamp functionality goodbye.

An excellent program. I liked it so well I bought a license.

It can use LAME for MP3 encoding, and it's going to get even better, as High Criteria tech support recently e-mailed me that version 4.1 will support saving to OGG Vorbis format. If that indeed happens, it will be a nearly perfect program.
