Publisher's Description

URL Snooper was written to help users locate the urls of audio and video files so that they can be recorded. Many links to streaming audio and video that you come across on the web are hidden behind javascript or activex scripts. Because of this, it is sometimes very difficult to figure out the actual urls that correspond to the streams being played. The goal of is to provide a one-stop easy solution to finding the URLs for all streams. It does this by watching network traffic and identifying potential urls, especially streaming media urls.

Sort of does what it says, does not work on some sites - BBC and the idea of registering every 6 months for a key to run the software without a nag screen is a non starter, thus it scores 2 for effort

Easily made portable...OR... Grab a portable v from the HomePage.
1) Can be manipulated to work without that Damn Registration key.
2) OK for grabbing real URL's when a vid is launched in your browser.

@Guys. Don't be put off by having to Install WinPcap. The file is Included with the Download. Just Double click the file to Install, then you can Use URL snooper & lots of other media sniffers..... (~_^)
If you ever Remove URL snooper, KEEP WinPcap Installed for other Apps to use.
-
To get Thousands of media URL's, You will need a Spider & java/HTML/php knowledge.............. Only 2* Coz of URL-snooper limitations.

This program, requires the installation of another software, (winPcap). Though it did not work for me. I don't doubt what others say about it.

What cant I say thats good about this program? I mean, it does everything its designed to do and it does it well. Very seldom does a program of this caliber cross the internet. If you are sick of having to hunt down a url to a media file, use this, it will save you loads of time.

BTW, perhaps a way to download said media links could be included in 3.0?

danilloOc,

there is surely a false alarm but we will check it out.

all of the programs on donationcoder.com come with a *zip-compatible* installer, which means that instead of running the installer you can unpack it manually using any zip compatible program, and then you can check out the individual files and see what avast or any other virus scanner says about each.

please feel free to visit the url snooper forum here:
http://www.donationcoder...bb/index.php?board=17.0

we're happy to help look into all such issues.

I downloaded and when I tried to run the installation, my antivirus (Avast! Antivirus) told me there's a "Malware" inside called "Win32:Cain-F [Tool]" so I didn't installed the program.

I just decided to inform it here to confirm it and maybe let the developer know what's happening since it could be (or not) a false alarm.

This program has proven very useful to me in finding media files url's, especially when web site devs try and hide them. Now if only they could crack flash binary files and get the media files URL's from them, we would be set. Good job!

This is by far one of the most useful program I've ever used. I've always hated having to edit source code to try and hack out a link to a media file, now I can get them without any real work at all. Thanks to mouser, perhaps one of the best developers in the software industry. Great job man!
