Publisher's Description

Velox is a simple, low resource, easy-to-use browser of today. From the moment you download it you will realise that it doesn't even need to install. It's all packed into a single executable file. It is a fully-functional web browser using the MSIE engine, but unlike most browsers today, starts up in seconds and will run on a system with as little as 64 megabytes of RAM. And, it's portable.

Speaking of which, how many older 'challenged' pc's are running .net v2? None that I recall.
Kudos for creating a single exe which can compete with IE on the pc's which do have .net2 installed.
Almost anything is better than IE which unfortunately is still (why i don't know) required by various softwares that run on winblos.

The speed issue is not a fair comparison with like for like in that the real load times of this (and any MSIE based product) need to include the code that MS preloads at system boot. A more fair comparison would be to use either an FF of (even better) K-Meleon or Seamonkey preloader then with the preload in place compare speeds. As it is merely an MSIE front end not a stand alone browser it, inevitably, suffers from all the woes and bad code associated with IE.

Hey anomoly, thats advertising!

Anyway this is by far the best browser I have ever installed on my 6 yr old child's old WinXP upgraded machine. Runs smoothly, more than I can say for Mozilla Firefox, and started up instantly!

I noticed that some guy wrote a review giving it 1 star and saying that it's not customisable, etc. Well, it is meant to be a quick browser, maybe just for downloading a malware removal tool on a sluggish spyware-infected computer? I'll see if I can ask the author (I'm a friend of his) but, from my point of view, a lot of people with historically challenged computers could use this browser.

Whether I gave it total access or simply yes'd my fw rules it does not like vidalia (proxy) as my IE default and is therefore WORTHLESS. No options whatsoever?? what?
K-meleon is THE best portable browser on the planet and is also my default installed one as of late. rip FF

This browser is absolutely amazing. As it said in the description, it started up in < 4 seconds for me on my system with 256 MiB of RAM. It seems to handle the full version of my Outlook Web Access properly, with Windows Update working as well. Unfortunately, it is portable, which some people may like but for me is just annoying. This won't stop my giving it a 5 though, for it has a clean interface and quick page-loading times as well.
