Since ATi decided, that there will be no more Control Panel anymopre, this tool is a must have for ATi users, who don't like the Control Center. Also the other possibilities are great.

7Zip will be better with every release. The compression ratio is very good, just multimedia data compression could be improved, but as you can see from the roadmap, this is planned for 7z 5.x.

AbiWord is pretty good, but AbiSource is still using his proprietary file format instead of OpenDocument. If you need OpenDocument import/export filters, you have to download an extra installer, I guess, this has no future.
