This adware, and will probably become a commercial program once released!

Same as Second Shadow's comments: "...miscategorized as freeware".
And why does it need to communicate home to Adobe? More of Cloud's in fashion--let's charge for it I suspect.
Adobe, put your programmers to much better use such as improving the now-very-dated primitive correction filters in Photoshop (dust removal, sharpness etc.) Need hundreds of suggestions? Then just ask.
There's no way I'd waste my time with this junk.
Score: -5 except the system won't let me select it.
Now piss off and go broke.

Then this is adware, not freeware. Simple as that :)
Therefore, as all adware deceitfully miscategorized as freeware, this gets a big fat "1"

"To offset Adobe's costs in developing and operating Digital Editions and its associated content protection infrastructure, Adobe plans to provide dynamic context-based ads within the user interface of the Digital Editions application in certain situations."
It seems the definition of a "Rich Internet Application" is an application which stays connected to the internet in order to deliver spam directly to your screen. Is this Adobe's attempt to bypass the browser and cut it's own slice of the internet advertising spend?
