CCleaner can be had for free & with the free add-on winapp2 will run rings round this program in removing junk - The other issue is that registry cleaners eventually mess your registry up (in time always) - The problem is you might not notice the issue at first until some rarely used program or control panel applet don't work or it can't find a unregistered .dll - Use the free MS defragger or get a free one, defragging is needed less & less with SS drives anyway.

Add GOD mode for all else: http://www.tomshardware....dows-7-How-to,9345.html

AusLogics recently brought out a program to remove unwanted tool-bars, I find that ironic as AusLogics are well known for adding them with their 'free' software.

Boosting. Optimizing. Tweaking. What is it that draws users to all this crap.? You can keep your system Tip-Top by clearing out temp-files, History-files, SoftwareDistribution files, & running cleanmgr.exe daily.
YES.!! OK. Your Registry can use a clearout once in a while, & maybe a Defrag as well. BUT. Choose your registry tool carefully. In fact, Learn the registry & do your own tweaks. These types of apps which Boost/Tweak systems are in fact, A combination of the above mentioned "clearing out" method plus tons of system registry tweaks, which are then compiled into a Snazzy UI, and sold for $£*
& in other cases as Freeware incl T/Bars & O/candy. ANY app that can Boost, Optimize, Tweak etc.... Can have 1* .. For efforts to sell Bull to the Unwitting.
As for the "sell" word: MAINTAIN.. You, the User are the maintainer.

I mean, "Come on" ... lol.
If you wanna boosted system ffs..!! Get a water cooled Case, 10Tb RAM, The "mother" of all Motherboards, TI's SysBIOS, Tot/range CPU, 10 chassis fans,
A fire Extinguisher, A large Beer, & join the OverClockers Club.

What's with you people? I see comments like the previous one here said about different programs all over the web (along with undeserved 1-star ratings). Let me tell you how these things normally work. If you have Windows 7, and you go and install Windows 8, do you expect your Windows 7 key to work with Windows 8? Of course not! So why do you expect your version 5 key for Boostspeed to work with version 6? Can you imagine how many people work hard to bring you new software versions, and you just want to get everything for free. It's ridiculous. I personally don't mind paying for a new version, if it's a program I like and want to keep using. Boostspeed is a program I like and I have upgraded from version 5 to 6 for a very small fee using a link I got in a newsletter from Auslogics.

BEWARE............If you are running a previous registered version (5.5.1) and have time remaining on your subscription, when you install this version it WILL revert to the trial and have limited capability. My subscription (version 5.5.1) serial number WOULD NOT work.

All needed features of this program can be got for free - Cleaning your registry will do nothing to speed your PC up - As for deleting duplicate files, you are quite likely to cause more harm than good. If you feel you need this program you really need to do a bit of reading about what is & isn't needed on start up ~

A solid program that delivers. The previous 1-star reviewer has a very telling name and I'm sure he didn't even use the program. Just look at expert reviews of this software all over the internet, including here on betanews (not the fileforum part). I've been a fan of Auslogics for years and have tried pretty much every product this company ever released. They make fine software.

This program is great! Even the limited trial lets you do a lot of optimizing for free. If you go beyond fixing the 15 errors out of whatever number it finds, and look at the Advanced Tools tab, it clearly shows which functions are locked in the trial mode and which ones are available. Disk cleaner, defrag, repair, software controls, system tweaks, task and service manager, disk wiper, file shredder and some others are all fully functional in the trial. These guys who rate this program 1 star are nothing but trolls - they are here in this forum because there is no system here to report abuse, so they can freely put down good software (it's not just this program, look at all their other posts!). Shame on you!

This is a great all-in-one application. Those people who give it 1 star probably didn't even use it to be able to judge. This program is worth every penny - the tools you get in this one package are pretty much everything you need for computer maintenance. I started with the free Disk Defrag, but bought BoostSpeed later and do not regret it a bit. Auslogics makes great software!

This has been reviewed by numerous IT professionals and always receives top ratings. Don't believe the ones that claim this software is "scamware". Look at the facts.
1. Has been in business for years.
2. Receives top ratings by Professional reviewers such as Cnet
3. Is so good that even AVG purchased the rights to sell it, rebranded as "AVG PC TUNEUP 2011"
"BoostSpeed gives you your money's worth." - CNET staff
"Think of the best PC speedup suite you've tried. And then add more."- Mike Williams, Software Crew
"You can defragment your disk with the built-in tool from Microsoft, however we recommend using the faster and more advanced version in Auslogics BoostSpeed."- PC Advisor
"Auslogics BoostSpeed includes modules and wizards for just about any kind of tweak or optimization you can imagine..."- PC World
"Tests showed an impressive performance improvement on a 4-year old laptop and its optimization techniques should work for a much newer computer, too."- The Ultimate Guide to Windows Vista
"This is a smart little program that novice users will find handy, and it does a good job of explaining itself and the various tweaks it offers."- IT Reviews

I love how the last three "members" (SteveT, AdinP, basphodel) all joined on the same day, have left only one review/rating, and it's a 5 star review/rating for this app...

Hmmmmm...

basphodel

basphodel reviewed v5.0.4.235 on Sep 6, 2010

Good, solid and easy to use software. Has all the tools I need. Well, a driver checker would be handy. Made my laptop a lot faster (Win 7 Home Premium).

AdinP

AdinP reviewed v5.0.4.235 on Sep 6, 2010

Love this software! It does everything it claims to do and doesn't focus on dubious optimization techniques. Found the Advisor and the Disk Explorer tools very useful. Also it's good that it actually lets you choose what to do unlike other software that does everything automatically without your knowledge.

Don't know what moxxey is talking about - it's absolutely malware-free and doesn't coax you into buying anything. If you don't want to buy it - don't. And if you don't want to clean the registry - don't, nobody's forcing you. Sounds like some spiteful people wrote reviews before actually trying out the software.

All in all, great software.

SteveT

What were the developers thinking of when they designed this? This is basically malicious software that's gonna dupe people in to spending 50 bucks to line the pockets of a rich Australian developer who spends way too long lying in the sun thinking of new ways to scam internet users.

Just best avoid registry cleansing tools that scare you in to payment. Plenty of free boosting tools if you must.

$50 Regcleaner scamware.
Use this and your computer won't boot.
If it does boot, it will break many things. Most of which you won't notice right away.

dotnetnightmare reviewed v5.0.3.210 on Jul 6, 2010

I wrote Auslogics about the need to have a more intuitive automated system tweak tool like TuneUp has. They responded with "System Advisor". This tool scans your PC and gives a recommendation on what changes are best. Simple, easy and damned effective. I admit after Advanced System Care & TuneUp, I had my doubts as to whether Auslogics could keep a competitive edge. This is by far the best software available in this category.

Hillard

Hillard reviewed v3.3.2.622 on Feb 27, 2006

There is really nothing special about this program. It does what it claims, but I can't see charging for it when there are so many free programs out that do more effectively less the cost. Again, the program does what it claims. Just nothing special, especially for a price.
