Publisher's Description
Internet Explorer has been designed to make everyday tasks easier, provide dynamic security protection and improve the development platform and manageability. End user improvements include a streamlined interface, tabbed browsing, printing advances, improved search functionality, instant feeds (RSS), dynamic security protection, and more.
Internet Explorer provides improved navigation through tabbed browsing, web search right from the toolbar, advanced printing, easy discovery, reading and subscription to RSS feeds, and much more. It also provides security through a robust new architecture, security features that help defend against malicious software, and new ways to better protect against the theft of personal data from fraudulent websites. It has improved support for cascading style sheets, a rich RSS feeds platform, and robust tools for deploying and managing Internet Explorer 7 in large enterprise environments.
The Platform Preview is an early look at the Internet Explorer platform so some features are incomplete, some may change, and some may be added.

IE reminds me of the smart weak kid at school....
He can do lots of stuff.... but the bad guys beat him up every day and take his lunch money.... he has no idea how to protect himself....

IE any number will never make. Chrome and Firefox out do IE even on a bad day. If it weren't for IE being bundled with MS OS, there would be no IE at all.

Slow to load, slow to close and sometimes it stays open in tsk mgr when you think it's closed. Other than that if you use windows it's difficult for the average user to simply remove it and use something else. After 30 yrs of coding I expect a lot more from it. Plus it loves ads, popups, and all the garbage that comes with the internet. Not a secure browser by any means. It just renders well is all I can say about it that's good. Unfortunately, that aint good enough these days. The ms os has this problem wherein if you are not using IE you will not be able to download some of their software. Pathetic really. My next version of the windows OS I use will not have IE at ALL.

I know this is still a platform preview, more to do with the underbelly of the yet to be released IE9, but based upon my experience from having used it, I will gladly rate it 5 stars. Microsoft is back in the game, and readying itself to play hardball.

Like aim, netscape and napster, IE died long time ago. I don't know anyone who uses it anymore and it keeps getting worse. Theres a good 4 or 5 better browsers out there. No reason to use this dinosaur...

This is a great version, have had no problems at all. For those of you who complain about it not working on old versions of window, get a life. How long to you actually believe Microsoft will support something that old. You all were told that support for such older OS's would stop and it has for the most part. Update and stop complaining.

Those who give this preview/beta a 1 because it doesn't work on almost 10 year old operating systems have serious issues to resolve.
XP is dead. You're beating a dead horse.
And anyone running 2003 R2 should not test beta browsers on it anyway. It's a server OS ffs - and if you're using it as a workstation OS today you need professional help.
That said .. Best browser from Microsoft ever. Importing adblock definitions work flawlessly if you want to do that. The HTML5 works as promised and it's a fast browser with a lot of stuff in it that people requested.
It's actually usable (even though I'm sticking with Firefox because of the extentions).

No telling what addon from IE 8 was causing a problem, but when I installed IE 9 beta 1, nothing but a constant circle of "Internet Explorer has stopped responding". Never opened a web page one time. Useless.
