Publisher's Description
Partition Logic is a free hard disk partitioning and data management tool. It can create, delete, format, defragment, resize, and move partitions and modify their attributes. It can copy entire hard disks from one to another. It is based on the Visopsys operating system. It boots from a CD or floppy disk and runs as a standalone system, independent of your regular operating system. It is intended to become a free alternative to such commercial programs as Partition Magic, Drive Image, and Norton Ghost.

Stick with what you know. & IF you don't know....??
Make sure you find a S/w which will Partition/Recover without Data Loss.
If a Disk goes RAW, or Windows can't find it. You can write MBR's &

22/02/2011 Partition Logic 0.7
Changes: This is a major release. It offers an updated look and a number of new features, including 64-bit disk support, UDF (DVD) filesystem support, and GPT partition table support, as well as file browsing functionality. New administrative applications and functionality have been added, and the ATA/IDE driver has been enhanced, including the ability to better support backwards-compatible SATA controllers. A number of tweaks and bug fixes are also included.

So here we are in 2011 and this piece of software appears here. It has been available for YEARS. It is not a new development. Site has not been updated since April 2008.

Junk software! Does nothing that you will want it to do. It requires an old as PS2 mouse. The software does NOT repartition your hard drive without deleting your information that is already on the drive. If you want something that does that, there are millions of other programs. I wouldn't use this if it were the last of it's kind!
Oh, and it showed only one of my drives and said that it was empty. Sad trash program that isn't worth the free download.

I was looking over this software's changelog on the homepage. It seems to be updated every 1-2 months on average. That's pretty damned good for freeware.

This is decent for FREEWARE.
A good one I found which is Open-Source was here: http://www.sysresccd.org/Main_Page
It's a little large on the download (100+ MB) but it supported all I threw at it (IDE, RAID, SCSI, USB, Firewire).
It has a couple utilities in it, but for partitioning, QT_PARTED is the main one.

I tried it on a Dell 9150. No USB support - means it is useless, mouse does not work. Besides, I couldn't eject the CD from the drive before rebooting.

Suggested a newsgroup (with reservations and before trying) and no one seemed to get it to work. I tried and as another post said I can't get beyond the blue screen. Just continually does a couple of detects, then a message too quick to read and reboots.

Works very well, I resized, created, deleted and rsized again, partitions on a Ntfs drive, however you do need to use the XP drive management tool to format a new partition to Ntfs.
When resizing, Partition Logic is quite slow in comparison to commercial software, so don't panic if the computer seems to have frozen.
It could do with a help file, as beginners to partitioning wont know what to do. That said, it is easy to use and better any other freeware partitioning software I have used. Apart from the Linux ones (Qparted is it?), which are very similar, but faster.
Overall, I wouldn't throw away my copy of Acronis Partition Expert yet, but Partition Logic is a good freeware choice. :)

Didn't work for me. It wouldn't go past the blue screen.

0.61....give it some time. It doesn't freeze here, and this is great for anyone with an OLD computer.
