YamiPod works great on my older Nano but, sadly, it lacks ability to sync on the newest iPods such as the Touch. I find it easy to use and small in disk space required. There needs to be a better FAQ/help page but the info is there if you look for it. That said, there is a Linux version I also use on an old computer running Debian so it gives me the same interface with either OS.
Yami works as advertised (on the models it says it supports). Here's hoping that a newer version will soon sync with the latest iPods.

For all you whiners out there, this isn't designed to be your primary media player. It's not gonna have every stupid bell and whistle that iTunes has. It's a simple, portable, well written app that allows you to have all of the BASIC functionality of iTunes and take it with you ON YOUR IPOD. Let's see Winamp or iTunes or whatever other media player app do that.

Tried it on booth Vista and XP, very crash prone and the interface is not very user friendly. I agree with Uecic, Winamp has the program to use if you want easy Ipod management.

I tried it, but I stay with Winamp 5.5 & ml_ipod 3.02 plug-in the best ipod manager according to me. You can do anything you want with your ipod (music, videos, photos, podcast...) from your HDD or to your HDD. Really simple and it works with Vista and all ipods (except ipodTouch). Winamp rules.

Awesome little program - Now my IPOD is truly portable! I can connect it to any machine without having to install Itunes or any other bloated software package which is truly what kept my from buying an IPod in the first place. My old Insignia MP3 player came with some Itunes-like software but it was an OPTIONAL install - if you didn't like it you could just copy music/videos to the player using explorer or your favorite filemanager. All music players should be like that instead of forcing to install proprietary drivers and music management software. I'm not bashing ITunes I have friends that swear by it but then they are noobs.
If you're using Vista you're stuck with Itunes until YamiPod is updated for that OS.

Still no sign of support for Vista. Until that happens I won't waste my time downloading it again.

If people commenting above are having issues with crashing then it would be best to send info of the specifics to the author (this is BETA news after all....).
I think this is a really good little app. I dont have iTunes installed .. I have Yamipod on my Nano and run it directly from that.. How nice is that, being able to plug my ipod in where I go an be able to mange my tunes... Bravo the author.
