Used this as well as several others to scan my PC which despite careful preparations still got various "bad stuff" on it.

I don't believe it's possible to provide 100% protection but one great tool is to use Firefox with "NoScript."

Now, quit your whining. It might be technically incorrect in his usage but it does have a meaning though I did find the definition vague. Also, many words which are considered "incorrect" do eventually get adopted. I just had to comment on the insane remark about dropping a point over the question of spelling a single word which is now in common usage.

To "F1Racer":

We are stunned by your excellent knowledge of the English language. Yes, indeed, in English it is "viruses".

We also know the tendency of the English speaking Americans to pollute the whole - not US English speaking - world with their own - according to the studies of linguists - most degenerated language.

So if you kindly would consider the term "virus" as of Latin origin and, as for that reason, the Latin plural of "virus" being "viri" - just like "servus" with the plural of "servi".

So what?!

Just because other people know different than you do and use language different from your use of language - you make a judgement for this software as not fulfilling its promises?

I pity you. Even as there is one "i" too much in the description, and even as there is not your expectation fulfilled of a linguisticly correct description - so what?!

Is this software coming up to its promises or not?

Here you fail to deliver any judgement . . .

Definitely has some powerful options, but needs some work, little touches such as confirmation when selecting a function are important, also function sub-choices and documentation (i.e.: system restore on/off...WHICH DRIVE? I have several, but only monitor 2.)

It's got potential, just needs a bit more development & polish.

A little gem I wouldn't be without...sure the GUI isn't that great but the functionality and power are there in droves.

"Confusing GUI"

WHAT IS confusing you jon8rfc? Are you an illiterate? I don't think so. So you are one of those people whose ability to follow non-standard frames is not existent. Well, you could ask for the usual menu order - but that claim has nothing to do with the functionality of a software program - rather with prejudice due to sticking to schemes.

"misleading menus".

Again - disklike instead of impartiality. The words in the menus describe exactly what you'll find if you follow them.

"This is not a good supplement to Ad-Aware & SpyBot." Nobody - not even the author in the above description - ever made a claim like that. So, again, dislike instead of objectivity.

This program does what it claims - nothing more and nothing less. And it is a really handsome collection of tools for the more experienced user.

Use it or don't - like it or not, but don't go around judging software on your own belly's feelings.

i don't say that freedom GUi is a
supplement to Ad-Aware & Spybot.
Dear jon8rfc Ad-Aware & Spybot can NOT detect trojan files bud freedom GUi can detect trojans.
freedom GUi is nothing for unexperienced users.

Confusing GUI, misleading menus. This is not a good supplement to Ad-Aware & SpyBot.

Loads of good tools, though nothing for unexperienced users.

On the homepage there's a link to this program without the installer, only 232kB -->:

That's also great about this program: you don't need to install it, no messing around with your registry.

This is a piece of software that reminds of those days when programmers found their pride in writing small, tight programs with a lot of features that were able to run even on small breasted machines.

Whereas nowadays there are more and more programs out there which have loads of optics but crap inside.

The program looks cheap and morose, however it works as expected. Therefore, -1 (Design is just as important as function). I wouldn't replace Antispyware with this program, in other words.
Virii, is NOT a word....and Wiki, is NOT a real dictionary. Wiki is more like a collection of acceptable internet information. Use Encarta.com or Britannica.com.
