Un buen navegador que viene a innovar y refrescar lo que ya está en el mercado, con el tiempo puede convertirse en una excelente alternativa para usar en el día a día.

Requires work with the installation / updating procedure. But still a great browser if these small niggles are ignored. Will give a 5 star rating when these silly installer issues are addressed.

Pros: a browser that gives a new vision of surfing the internet, a pleasant interface and a different way of arranging the tabs.

Cons: like every new product it still has some trouble navigating some pages, it suddenly restarts and slows down.

Bottom Line: Un buen navegador que viene a innovar y refrescar lo que ya está en el mercado, con el tiempo puede convertirse en una excelente alternativa para usar en el día a día.

Pros: My browser of choice and it keeps getting better and better. Above all, it allows you to place your tabs where you want them - I like to have them at the bottom of the page.

Cons: No real negatives that I've discovered.

Bottom Line: Highly recommended.

Cons: In reserve.

Bottom Line: Now the best web browser available.

Vivek Kowshik

Vivek Kowshik reviewed v1.16.1230.3 Snapshot on Jul 20, 2018

Pros: Great browser with unheard of level of customization. Works just as good as Chrome or Opera.

Cons: Updating the browser does not happen the way I expected. I had installed the 64 bit version, but when I updated to a newer version, the older version remains and shows up in the list of programs.
Also I have never really understood why both Vivaldi and Opera have a bad habit of creating a new folder for each new install, and leaving the older files intact. Due to this I have had to install a portable version of the browser, to avoid having to clean up after each update.

Bottom Line: Requires work with the installation / updating procedure. But still a great browser if these small niggles are ignored. Will give a 5 star rating when these silly installer issues are addressed.

Pros: Quick, easy to use and effective!

Cons: Eats up RAM, 6 tabs open, nearly 800MB. Same as most other browsers but still its a lot.

Bottom Line: My default browser now.

cltx99

cltx99 reviewed v1.12.955.36 on Sep 23, 2017

Pros: not bad

Cons: not good

Bottom Line: I'm having downloaders remorse. Originally, I was really impressed with Vivaldi and it worked well for a time. Then is became problematic. Page rendering became slower, along with all kinds of little quirks. The "bookmarks bar" is no bookmarks bar at all, it's a drop-down menu. Adjusting font size became a problem and a number of times it just froze on me. Alas, I uninstalled it and reinstalled SlimJet as a Chrome reolacement as it has all that I need and is much more stable.

Wintings

Wintings reviewed v1.12.955.14 Snapshot on Sep 16, 2017

Pros: A long-time Firefox user, I thought I'd give Vivaldi a try and I'm glad I did. It's fast and highly customizeable. It's now my default browser.

Cons: None to speak of

Bottom Line: Recommended

cltx99

cltx99 reviewed v1.12.955.14 Snapshot on Sep 15, 2017

Pros: slick

Cons: Bookmarks could be more intuitive and user friendly.

Bottom Line: After spending quite a bit of time sorting everything out, (forgive me I'm 69 years of age), everything came together quite nicely. Anyway, Vivaldi has really surprised me. It does most everything that a browser is supposed to do and does it very well. As of now, it performs better than crappy old google and the unpredictable FireFox, which by the way, used to be pretty good. I'm using Vivaldi as my default browser and for me that's amazing considering I've been using FF for so long. I just hope the folks at Vivaldi don't screw things up like the morons who wrecked FireFox.

Which browser ist faster? NONE

Cons: help pages are missing other than the help forum

Bottom Line: my standard now

Am a new user to this browser, wanted to try another Chromium based browser and settled upon Vivaldi. So far, am impressed by the feature set in this browser. Is quite customizable, and have not had any problems with the browser rendering pages. Has quite the different interface from other Chrome based browsers, so am still getting used to it. Is not a dealbreaker, but still am learning the ropes.

This is now becoming a seriously good browser. Seems to be quicker than others, certainly firefox is becoming very slow these days.

Wow Ive never heard of chromium browsers loading slow, on all the machines I have including older laptops running linux, chrome is the one and Only browser that loads in under 1 second. Conversely its Firefox that takes up to a minute to load sometimes on older machines. I have never used Opera so I cant comment on its load times. Vivaldi again loads in similar fashion to Chrome, under 1 second.

niefer

niefer reviewed v1.5.658.44 on Nov 30, 2016

It's my default browser since the beginning. Each release getting better. Seems it will be the best (as old Opera), but with zero market (also as old Opera).

Blackholesun

Blackholesun reviewed v1.2.490.39 on Jun 9, 2016

When it was launched I thought, the browser would be good as the ex Opera people are behind it. Unfortunately it didn't shaped the way I thought it would. Like almost all chromium based browser it too is slow to load. Just load a previous session with 15-20 tabs, the circles never seems to stops. In fact this is a major issue with all chromium based browsers.

In terms of functionality still nothing come close to the old Opera out of the box. To get the out of the box functionality of old Opera you are free to add tons of extensions !

Anyways this is my experience with various Chromium based browsers. Your experience could be very different than mine.

I seriously feel that if the old Opera code is made open source then there exists enough development experience with people that we could have a better browser than any browser that exists today !

Definitely the spiritual successor to pre chrome Opera. Love the features and customization. Using Beta 2 and nothing but good so far. Real Opera browser is dead and this seems a worthy replacement.

Scratch what I said earlier, it's still clunky. The interface just doesn't transition smoothly and the start up time keeps increasing.

Youtube videos stutter quite a bit. It also doesn't seem to resize the player based on the window size. Instead it remains static in the center of the page.

Still got a ways to go yet, but I'm hopeful

Things are shaping up nicely. It's not as clunky as before but still a little on the slow side.

I'm really looking forward to the built in mail client becoming operational. It has other nice additions like built in notes, sidebar, etc., things that had set Opera apart. One of the best things that no other Chrome clone offers is some control over the UI. Not only are there a few more options within the settings but, you can edit the appearance much in the way you can with Firefox by way of editing it's CSS file.

It's still only in Tech Preview but has already surpassed the new Opera.

Vivaldi has gone to the dark side:

"To be able to serve you, our users and friends, in the best possible way, we need to know a little about you. We need to know how many you are, what HW/OS you have and where in the world and which language you use. This helps us make the right priorities on our resources. Starting with this build, Vivaldi will connect with our servers for this purpose only once per day. We do not collect any usage data. So, on first run Vivaldi generates a unique ID for your installation.
Then, every 24 hours, your browser, if running, will send via https, the following info:
The unique user ID
Browser user agent
CPU architecture
Screen Resolution
Accept Language"

I will remove it and never come back. I have hopes for Vivaldi but no more.

Still slow and incomplete. But looks a promising alternative, after we have seen current Opera-Blink team being almost stuck on innovation.

Blaxima

Blaxima reviewed v1.0.161.2 Snapshot on Apr 24, 2015

Still on the clunky side and I really don't like the look of it. Good native features with more coming but I'm still not sold yet. It is clear though that they are looking to create the same sense of community Opera once had

Blaxima

Blaxima reviewed v1.0.124.2 Snapshot on Mar 11, 2015

The colour of the tab adapts to the visited page. So it's not always red, just in the preview image which would indicate that Cyberdoc never even tried the browser. Mind you, I still find the colours quite harsh

Still not going to be my main browser as it is clear that this is incomplete and it seems slower than other browsers. Really looking forward to the addition of mail so I can dump my Opera 12.17 once and for all. The notes feature however is already very good taking over from where old Opera left off

asaenz

asaenz reviewed v1.0.123.10 Snapshot on Mar 10, 2015

I agree with the alpha stage ... can't even easily setup a user defined download area. I wouldn't discourage development but far from being my main browser in its current implementation ... too many disadvantages not enough pros YET.

dsp_418

dsp_418 reviewed v1.0.111.2 Snapshot on Feb 23, 2015

Intention is great with Vivaldi, trying to giving back to Opera users their browser.
Mail is planned to come back too!
I wouldn't give a high rate yet, it's still at an early stage. Considered the premises though, I think the team deserve 4 stars even though Vivaldi is not there yet. They're working hard, releasing a new build every week! Hope to see M2 soon :)

As for CyberDoc999 comment, what kind of review is that? You're complaining about the colors, so obviously you didn't even bother reading that customization is on their plan too.

CyberDoc999

CyberDoc999 reviewed v1.0.94.2 Technical Preview 2 on Feb 17, 2015

Blaxima

Blaxima reviewed v1.0.94.2 Technical Preview 2 on Feb 17, 2015

Opera LIVES!! The original founder and some staff who followed Jon out the door are back with this feature rich version of chrome. While it does use Blink as it's engine, it already has built in side panels with mail and many more tab features in the works. It isn't even at the beta stage yet but is more feature rich than the "new" Opera. So, if you were an old fan you will certainly want to keep an eye on Vivaldi's development.

Personally, I'm not really a fan of the very flat and harsh colours look that, in fairness, most software seems to be adopting.
