This version (7.90) is crashing on my Win 7 x64 continuously!
Come'on you can do better than that!
Ok, clarification: I'm talking about the portable version!!! (downloaded from developer's page). I went to the forum and downloaded the 7.90 beta 2 and that one is working as supposed to...

I used Notepad++ for years but it is missing a good project manager (actually it is very basic) and also missing a code/class explorer for easier medium to big projects management, RJ TextEd have one and also have the column mode as Notepad++
But it is still have many bugs, after 30 minutes of testing I found many that freeze or crash RJ.

Don't really know what to say about this, Downloaded yesterday and I'm just blown away by it. I've been a fan of Notepad++ for a long time, but this, this is just astonishing. It is absolutely superb. Notepad++ is very feature rich & I barely use most of them, but it always seems a bit "bitty" in its implementation. RJ TextEdit feels well thought out and feels like a complete application not one app with loads of plugins.
For hand coded web development I can't think of anything that has come close to it since the demise of Epic Homesite. It appears to be an application that lets YOU decide how to organise and control your project - you don't have to follow the Visual Studio, Eclipse etc, way.
For simple txt and bat files editing and things like that, it also rocks.
I've only had this installed a single day, but rarely have I come across an application (free or otherwise) that has impressed me this much.
Pity 5 stars is all I can rate.

This program is more powerful than I may ever know. I would like to be able to load rss type links from the sidebar without making them IE 'favorites'. I just haven't quite figured it out. At least the other browser option was finally fixed.
The best nfo reader hands down imo.
If the program would simply allow dragNdrop from the sidebar to the address line that would do it, but It does not work that way. I know it's an editor but the possibilities are huge.

The new crownholder in free text editing.

This is the best freeware code and general text editor around. The author is very active fixing issues, improving the application and listens to all suggestions. The editor is highly functional and a pleasure to use. I can't think of any negitives.
Compared to it's competition:
Notepad++: Menus are a mess and many plugins don't work with the current version or Unicode.
PSPad: Not quite as nice to use as RJ and development of the product is slow or has stopped.

imho this programme is very buggy and still in need of a lot of work.
I'll stick with Notepad++ for now thanks.

It looks like it could be good but it has horrific crashes when opening files randomly. I disable as much auto stuff as I can in the app, but it still does it.

I removed the context dialog last release (it came back after this update) and replaced the 'converter' with convertall.
Word wrap is still wanky. Words are cut at random points in the middle of the word.
Other than that the best nfo reader & then some.
I don't use winmerge, I use diffuse http://diffuse.sourceforge.net/

Hate this... after RJ has been installed on Win7 - the right click on my computer - management stop working...
ContextMenuHandler of RJ has broke the system functionality.
anomoly reviewed v5.72 on Oct 19, 2009
Context menu always worked. It's file associations that never have & still don't.

Very good editor. However, there are a couple of features that IMO put PSPad above this one:
- Color selector / Color Translator (PSPad has them, I couldn't find them in RJ TextEd)
- File comparison (in PSPad it's built-in whereas in RJ TextEd you have to use an external program, Winmerge)
If it wasn't for those two features, I'd probably use this one instead of PSPad.
